What is my "Journal for Learning"?

This is all very new to me....blogging and public self examination however my "Journal for Learning" is intended to be a journal of thoughts about and changes (hopefully) to my teaching practice in the context of "Assessment for Learning". I will be looking at specific parts of the BC Curriculum IRPs(Integrated Resource Packages) and how I can help guide students meet the PLOs (Prescribed Learning Outcomes). It is my hope that as a result, I will be better able to help my students be more aware of their learning and therefore better able to self assess, goal set and accomplish those goals.

My Focus

"Prescribed Learning Outcome" (Page 86 - A10)
I have four groups to work with on this PLO. I will quote it here but you can also find it through the link I have provided in "Links I am using".

A10 reflect on and assess their speaking and listening, by
-referring to class-generated criteria
-considering and incorporating peer and adult feedback
-setting goals and creating a plan for improvement
-taking steps toward achieving goals

The groups I will be working with are Language Arts gr 2/3, gr 4/5, gr 6/7 (Speaking Fluency Group) and the fourth is a Study Skills group of gr 7.
